Four university friends started Thumbinthai. We studied computer science, and none of us came from the clothing industry. In 2012 we began to sell T-shirts with our own designs. Then a friend asked us to make T-shirts for a company event. We said yes before we had a factory. We learned fabric, cutting, sewing and printing from the people who do this work every day. Our name comes from “tham”, the Thai word for “make”.
